Outlook is an easy to use mail and calendar program.  This 1-day class will cover 4 main topics; Outlook terminology/setup, working with mail, using the calendar and maintaining contacts.  In the mail section, you will learn how to create and send emails, reply/forward messages, create a signature and organize messages in folders.  Using the calendar, you will create appointments, meetings, events, and learn how to manage your calendar.  Contacts are where you store contact information for people who don’t work at your company such as vendors or clients.  In the contacts section, we will create individual contacts and contact groups.

Learn detailed instructions about how to use the Microsoft Office applications of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as how to integrate Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.  Applicable skills:

Demonstrate the fundamental skills needed to use the MS Word word-processing application. Create new Word documents, edit and format existing Word documents, add graphics and tables to Word documents, and merge Word documents.

Use the MS Excel spreadsheet application. Skillfully use the basic elements of Excel, create and use simple and complex formulas and functions, incorporate useful charts and graphs, add, delete, sort, and lay out table data.  

Create MS PowerPoint presentations. Explain the basic elements and fundamentals of Microsoft PowerPoint, insert objects and finish a presentation, work with PowerPoint tools, tables, and charts, apply Slide Master, shapes, and effects, and Insert hyperlinks, illustration objects, and media clips.

Learn the skills necessary to integrate an Excel spreadsheet into a Word document. To complete this Microsoft Office certificate program, you will either need to buy Microsoft® Office 2019 or subscribe to Microsoft 365®. While Microsoft does offer a free trial of their programs through their site, it's important to note that the length of the trial period may not offer students enough time to complete the certificate program.
